She was a Governor and Chair of the Education Committee at Leaden Hall School (a private Prep School for girls) in Salisbury for a number of years. Caroline joined the board of Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop School 6 years ago, which was a double RI school but after a comprehensive school improvement plan and a restructuring of the curriculum, it was judged to be Good by OFSTED in September 2023. It is a small FGB, and Caroline is the Chair with responsibility for Safeguarding, SEND and link Governor for Humanities and Staff Wellbeing.
Caroline is a Trustee at Wilton Riding for the Disabled, which is a large RDA centre offering therapeutic riding and equine therapy to over 90 clients per week. The clients are children and adults with additional needs who come to Wilton Riding for the Disabled as individuals or as part of school groups. Caroline is responsible for Safeguarding, Employment, and Insurance on the RDA board. She is also the Volunteer coordinator for Saturday riding, when they have Duke of Edinburgh placements for under eighteens and some volunteering opportunities for young people with additional needs who build confidence and self-esteem during their time with them. SAIL is in contact regarding riding as an alternative provision for some of their young people.
Caroline was also involved with the Chalke Valley History Festival, where she ran the volunteers for this week-long festival for 7 years. This involved recruiting and managing up to 170 people from 16 years upwards. Additionally, Caroline is a member of her local Parish Council and a Salisbury Hospice Fundraising committee.
